Young boy on stage, arms raised as he tells a joke into a microphone

Since 2021, Showtown have worked with local comedian and writer, Ruth E. Cockburn to deliver a stand-up comedy course for young people in Blackpool called Open up the Mic. There have been 3 cohorts of budding young comedians taking part over the years.

This showcase event is an opportunity for them to perform again and try out new material in front of a warm and friendly audience. The perfect event to introduce young people to comedy.
