Robert Ross

For over three decades, he has transformed his lifelong passion for British film and television into a flourishing career as an author, consultant, researcher, and commentator. His best-selling works include The Carry On Companion, Monty Python Encyclopedia, The Complete Goodies, and a biography of Marty Feldman. Alongside writing for magazines, radio, and television, he has contributed to DVD releases, moderated audio commentaries with iconic comedians, and narrated documentaries. His expertise has taken him to events at Pinewood Studios, the National Film Theatre, the Edinburgh Festival, and the Bristol Slapstick Festival, where he has interviewed comedy legends such as Terry Jones, June Whitfield, and Norman Wisdom.

Beyond publishing and broadcasting, he has ventured into live performance and theatre, penning stage plays like Jeepers Creepers about Marty Feldman, as well as scripting radio specials and stand-up shows including Oh, What A Carry On! and Forgotten Heroes of Comedy. He has toured with Tony Slattery, hosted sell-out events, and even appeared in Last of the Summer Wine. His passion for celebrating British comedy extends to cruise ship talks, theatrical festivals, and charity events—always with the firm belief that “this year, comedy is the answer.”
