By focusing on high-quality, transformative projects, we aim to inspire individual creativity, remove barriers to accessing the arts, and provide professional development opportunities for emerging talent. Part of The Electric Sunshine Project* CIC (TESP), founded by Melanie Whitehead in 2016, The Old Electric operates under the guidance of a dedicated team of directors and Associate Artists who bring wide-ranging expertise. We live by three core principles—innovation, illumination, and opportunity—which guide our engagement with local people, places, and creative partners. Rooted in the needs of our community, our work shines a new light on how we see ourselves and the world, nurtures healthy self-expression, and ensures accessible pathways for aspiring creatives.
