Justin Moorhouse

Justin Moorhouse is an English stand-up comedian, actor, and broadcaster from Ashton-under-Lyne, celebrated for his warm, quick-witted storytelling style. After working as a salesman for many years, he made his stand-up debut at Manchester’s famed Frog and Bucket comedy club—at age 29—and soon after won a local comedy competition at the Comedy Store Manchester. He rose to wider prominence playing the memorable Young Kenny in Peter Kay’s cult classic, Phoenix Nights, humorously portraying a staunch Manchester City supporter despite being a lifelong Manchester United fan himself.

Beyond his breakout role in Phoenix Nights, Moorhouse has appeared in films such as Looking for Eric, taken on stage roles at Manchester’s Royal Exchange (including Zack and One Man, Two Guvnors), and landed a brief part on Coronation Street as Dean Upton. His television credits include Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Celebrity Mastermind—where he won with Les Dawson as his specialist subject—and guest spots on Still Open All Hours. He has also lent his distinctive voice to the “Vimtoad” in a popular Vimto advertising campaign.

As a broadcaster, Moorhouse fronted radio shows on Manchester’s Key 103 and has written and starred in the BBC Radio 4 sitcom Everyone Quite Likes Justin, praised for its high gag-rate and charismatic performances. A natural compere, he regularly hosts comedy nights in and around Manchester—including the Heatons’ Comedy Evening—and shares his comedic insights through his popular weekly podcast, About 30 minutes, No more than 45, where he chats with fellow comics and offers a behind-the-scenes look into his life on and off stage.
